Jan Callison
Jan Callison has been a Minnetonka resident for 18 years. She served as an at-large councilmember from 1994 until being elected to the position of mayor in 2006. Prior to her time on the council, she served on the Minnetonka Planning Commission and the Board of Zoning Adjustment.
Jan has an undergraduate degree from Morningside College, a graduate degree from Johns Hopkins University and a law degree from Harvard. She’s worked as a corporate lawyer and in private practice, and has also taught at the William Mitchell School of Law. Most recently, she served as executive director of the West Hennepin Affordable Housing Land Trust (WHAHLT).
Jan currently serves on the board of directors for a number of organizations, including the Community Action Partnership for Suburban Hennepin; the Association of Metropolitan Municipalities; and the North Star Council Juvenile Diversion Program. She has previously served on the board of directors for the Music Association of Minnetonka and Boulevard Gardens Senior Housing. She is chair of the Tonka CARES task force and a member of the Caring Youth task force; and previously was a member of the Hennepin County Policy Advisory Committee for Southwest Corridor Light Rail and the Minnetonka Open Space task force.
Jan and her husband, Fred Reuning, have three children.
