Terry Schneider was elected to an at-large seat on the city council in 1992 and was appointed mayor in 2009. Terry moved to Minnetonka in 1971 and has been involved in community activities ever since. He has served on the Minnetonka Park Board and the Planning Commission; and with the Minnetonka Jaycees, was instrumental in the development of Big Willow Park.
He has served as president of the Association of Metropolitan Municipalities (MetroCities); on the board of the League of Minnesota Cities; and on the Metropolitan Council Transportation Advisory Board. Terry currently serves on a number of regional boards and committees including the MetroGIS Policy Board, Metro Council Land Use Advisory Council, Municipal Legislative Commission, Regional Council of Mayors and the West Hennepin Affordable Housing Land Trust (Homes Within Reach).
Terry owns his own company, Project Developers, a real estate development consulting service. A registered architect, Terry graduated from the University of Nebraska with an undergraduate degree in architecture and a master’s degree in business. He and his wife, Beth, have five grown children and seven grandchildren.
