Health screenings and other services
All of the below services are available at the community center.
- Foot care
- Nurses from the Happy Feet Agency are at the Center on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Fridays from 9–3 p.m. Call for appointments and/or cancellations at 763.560.5136. There is a fee of $29.00 for this service.
- Blood pressure screenings
- Free checks are available on the first and third Fridays from 9:30–11:30 a.m. and on the second Wednesday from 9:30–11:30 a.m.
Over Fifty and Fit- This exercise group meets every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9–10 a.m. The cost is a one-time fee of $3. Here’s a great way to stay in shape.
- Outreach
- Penny Dobbins is a social worker with Senior Community Services. She is at the Minnetonka Senior Center on the 2nd and 4th Mondays from 1–:00 p.m. Appointments are recommended by calling the center at 952.939.8393. She is available to meet on a one-on-one basis regarding community resources, support groups and other personal issues. Her office number is 952.935.0521.
- H.O.M.E. (Household and Outside Maintenance for Elderly)
- A program of Senior Community Services for Minnetonka residents aged 60 and over. There are volunteer groups and paid workers available to help with yard clean up, snow removal, window washing, painting, small repair jobs, and house cleaning. Please call Valerie at 952.939.8363 to ask questions or to put in your request. Valerie is at the community center on Monday and Wednesday afternoons.
- Health insurance counseling
- Appointments can be made for Monday afternoons between 1–3 p.m. by calling the community center. There is no cost to meet with a volunteer counselor.
- Legal counseling
- Bill Lurth will be here on Tuesday mornings for 10 and 10:30 a.m. appointments. Call the community center to schedule an appointment.
- Tax Preparation Assistance

If you’re a Minnetonka resident 55 or older in need of tax assistance, look no further than Minnetonka Senior Services, located at the Minnetonka Community Center, 14600 Minnetonka Blvd., Minnetonka. Free income tax assistance is offered on Wednesdays through April 11 from 8:30 a.m. to noon; and on Thursdays through April 12 from 1 to 3 p.m. An appointment is required—call 952.939.8393.A copy of your property tax statement for taxes can be obtained by visiting the Hennepin County Service Center at Ridgedale to get a copy printed off or you can call Hennepin County Taxes at 612.348.3011.
The IRS also provides free tax preparation assistance.
