Personal training

Personal training is individualized instruction that incorporates your health history, goals, and current lifestyle into a comprehensive and educational exercise program that meets your specific needs. Our nationally certified personal trainers are on hand to help you in your quest to become a healthier you!

Before signing up for a personal trainer, you must fill out a personal training request form and health history forms. All forms should be submitted to Samantha Hackbart.

Note: if you answer “yes” to two or more of the following questions, you will need a medical clearance to participate in our personal training program, which may delay the time you are placed with a trainer.

  • Are you a male over 45 or a female over 55 years of age?
  • Do you have a family history of heart disease or heart attacks before age 55 in a male relative or before the age of 65 in a female relative?
  • Do you currently smoke or use tobacco?
  • Do you have or have you ever been told that you have high blood pressure (> 140/90)?
  • Do you have or have you ever been told that you have high cholesterol (> 200)?
  • Are you a diabetic?
  • Do you have a BMI > 30 or waist girth > 102 cm for men and > 88 cm for women?
  • Are you currently sedentary (not engaging in regular physical activity?)

Personal training policies

  • All sessions are one hour in length.
  • All sessions must be conducted at venues managed by the Williston Center/City of Minnetonka/Recreation Services.
  • All cancellations must be made directly with the trainer a minimum of 6 hours prior to the scheduled appointment to avoid being charged for that session.
  • An appointment “no show” will count as a session used.
  • Personal trainers will wait up to 10 minutes past the scheduled session time. The amount of time that a participant is late will be deducted from the hour session.
  • Package plans must be purchased in advance.
  • Sessions must be completed within six months from the date the contract was signed.
  • All personal training sessions/packages are non-refundable.
  • Payments must be made in full before the first scheduled session.
  • Only Williston Fitness Center personal trainers are allowed to conduct personal training sessions within the Williston Center/City of Minnetonka/Recreation Services. All other personal training is prohibited.
  • In cases of extreme emergencies, all sessions will be made-up without penalty.
