Group fitness
The Williston Fitness Center offers fitness classes for all fitness levels. You can expect to be encouraged and challenged by our enthusiastic instructors! Each class is uniquely designed to give you a great workout and keep you coming back for more!
Any member of the Williston Fitness Center is welcome to attend classes free of charge.
Class size may be limited due to equipment and space requirements. Please arrive on time as instructors may deny you access to class if you arrive after the warm-up period.
The Williston Fitness Center reserves the right to cancel class due to low attendance.

- Weekend group fitness class rotation
Please register for these classes through Hopkins-Minnetonka Recreation Services online or by calling 952.939.8203. Most of these classes are included in the Williston Fitness Center membership; those which have an additional charge are listed at the end of this list.
Water aerobics
- Deep Water
- Non-impact aerobic workout with toning and stretching. Participants must be self-sufficient in the water.
- Water
- This includes aerobics, toning, and stretching. Class may be taught in deep and shallow water.
- Water Arthritis
- Swimming is not a prerequisite, but participants must be self-sufficient in the water. Cardiovascular workout, stretching, and toning without impact. All of these classes are free to members. Non-members must purchase a $4 daily charge or a discounted 10-visit punch card. Classes are held Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday at 8 a.m. and Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday at 10 a.m. Please do not arrive more than 20 minutes before class.
Land aerobics with no additional cost for members
- Body Blast!
- This morning class adds in-depth, overall body toning, abdominals and stretching to your exercise routine.
- Body Sculpting
- This simple, yet challenging class is designed to tone the entire body through the use of Body Bars, tubing, and free weights.
- Cardio and Core
- This class contains high and low impact aerobic moves to get you on (or off) your feet. Instructors teach to all levels of aerobics conditioning; members must increase or decrease intensity as desired.
- Cardio Kick
- Enjoy a fun and energizing workout with easy-to-learn kickboxing techniques! Gain strength, improve coordination, and reduce stress in a safe, no-sparring class.
- Cardio Mix
- Boost your cardiovascular fitness with this refreshed mix of cardio exercises.
- Cardio Twist
- This class is taught at a basic fitness level with variations of intensity levels offered for those with higher fitness levels. Step aerobics is not the only thing you’ll see in this class—come for a great floor and weight workout, too!
- Core Conditioning
- Now is the best time to work on your core! Abdominals, glutes, and lower back will be worked in this 25-minute class. Note: Participants must come to class already warmed-up.
- Pilates I
- A form of body conditioning that strengthens, stretches, and tones your muscles, while improving posture and balance. Pilates can increase your flexibility, unite your mind and body, and give you a more stream-lined shape, producing longer and leaner muscles. Pilates I challenges you and provides additional poses and more advanced body conditioning. Please register at recreation services.
- Pump It Up
- Resistance training class perfect for men and women of all ages. Fun workout using a variable weight barbell and music. Also includes abdominal work and flexibility training. Non-members must register at Recreation Services.
- SilverSneakers: Muscular Strength & Range of Movement (MSROM)
- Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement, and activity for daily living skills. Hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles, and a ball are offered for resistance, and a chair is used for seated and/or standing support.
- Spin
- This is an indoor group cycling class held in an instructor lead format where participants ride on a fully adjustable stationary bicycle. This bike offers a customized fit and fixed gear drive. Classes are formatted to offer the full experience- providing motivational music to and a great workout! Note: If you are a new spin participant, please arrive at least 10 minutes early to your first class so you can receive your seat settings. Please also note that spinning participants must be 15 years of age to participate.
- Step Challenge Plus
- This class begins with traditional warm-up and uses an intermediate-to-advanced intensity level of Step Aerobics mixed with other forms of cardio and muscular conditioning.
- Step It Up
- Intermediate and advanced step moves get you in shape and leave you feeling great! Basic step experience required.
- Total body conditioning
- This class will provide you with an intense total body workout. Great for new participants and those with experience!
- Youth Fit
- Our certified personal trainers will provide a fun and motivating workout for those 10–15 years of age geared toward enhancing strength, endurance, flexibility, coordination, and confidence.
Note: The class is for children and teens ages 10–15yrs.
Max class size: 15 - Youth SPIN
- Youth SPIN is an indoor group cycling class held in an instructor lead format where participants ride on a fully adjustable stationary bicycle. Max class size: 15 - Yoga
- Basic fundamentals of yoga as a system for physical, mental and spiritual integration. Participants learn and practice basic postures or asanas, working to correct poor posture and faulty breathing while gaining awareness of the nervous system. Yoga is free to members, non-members must pay the $5 fee for the a.m. class. Non-members may register at Recreation Services for evening sessions.
- Power Yoga
- Power Yoga is a Vinyasa style yoga done in a warm (not hot) environment. The postures are broken down (demonstrated) and the instructor will lead the flow at a deliberate pace with an emphasis on alignment and breath. It’s a great place to start your yoga journey. Some classes will incorporate light weights which will combine yoga, traditional strength and athletic cardio training
- Zumba!
- This class is a mix of Latin-based dances and moves from hip-hop. Lose yourself in the music and work your body… it’s fun, it’s exciting, it’s a workout when you don’t even know it!
- Ballroom dancing (foxtrot and swing, rumba and cha-cha: $)
- Do you want a fun social activity that is great exercise? Are you getting ready for a wedding or special occasion? Members and non-members must register at recreation services.
- Latin hip-hop
- A fun and energizing class with music from around the world from Latin, to hip hop, to disco. Enjoy moving and grooving while laughing and clapping. Non-members must register at recreation services.
Land aerobics with an additional cost for members
- Goju-Kai Karate ($)
- Get in shape and learn an effective style of self-defense while developing personal confidence. Classes and skills are progressive and ongoing. For more information and to register, please contact recreation services at 952.939.8203.
- Hot Shoes
- This workout combines the art of dance with the science of exercise, the fun of rhythmic routines, and fantastic motivating music with mind/body activity. Options to take one, two, three or unlimited classes per week. Please register at recreation services.
- Kickboxing ($)
- Improve your self-confidence and gain strength, coordination, and flexibility while burning calories in this high-energy class. Please register at recreation services.
