Juvenile Diversion Program

A judge sits at his law bench.

Young offenders facing criminal charges have the opportunity to participate in the Juvenile Diversion program as a positive alternative to juvenile court.

Referrals to the program are made by the Minnetonka Police Department. Participants must be between the ages of 13 and 18.

Youth work with adult mentors in a structured environment. Upon successful completion of the program, the alleged offense will not appear on the juvenile’s record. Failure to complete the requirements of the program results in redirection of the youthful offender to the Hennepin County Attorney for prosecution.
