Crime notification
When deciding whether or not to notify residents about a crime in the area, the Minnetonka Police Department considers the following:
- Trends, including how many incidents take place over a specific period of time, how close the incidents are geographically, and if the suspects use the same method to commit the crime;
- Specific suspect information; and
- Whether or not the crimes pose a risk to the neighborhood.
Interested residents can receive information about criminal activity in their area in the following ways:
- View the interactive crime map on the city’s website www.eminnetonka.com.
- Subscribe to ePrevent, which allows residents who are not members of a Neighborhood Watch Club to receive crime alerts.
- Join a Neighborhood Watch Club. To find out if there is a club in your neighborhood, or to form a new club, contact Nicole Nelson at 952.939.8546.
