Williston Center grand re-opening is May 15

For the past year, the Williston Fitness Center has been undergoing a major facelift. To celebrate the completion of this project, please attend a grand re-opening event Sunday, May 15, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. This event will showcase Williston’s newly renovated pool, fitness areas, play structure and a variety of local companies in the community. This event is free, so bring the whole family!

New information for Williston Fitness Center project (06/30/2010)

Planned renovations to the Williston Fitness Center will be underway soon, including interior remodeling, additions to the existing pool building, parking lot expansion and exterior painting of the tennis building. Construction will be completed by early March 2011. Williston Center patrons should be aware of the following during construction:

• Swimming pool construction starts July 1, with an estimated finish date of November 1.
• Locker rooms will be closed around July 12, and a temporary restroom will be provided on site. Early morning and lunchtime visitors may use the shower facilities at the Minnetonka Ice Arena. Locker rooms are estimated to re-open October 15.
• Weight rooms and cardio equipment will remain available, and land aerobics classes will continue, throughout the construction.
• Child care services will remain open for most of the construction period. Call 952.939.8370 for updates.
• The new entrance is scheduled for completion in December 1, and the transition from the old to the new exercise room will take place January 1, 2011.

New project: Williston Fitness Center

The City of Minnetonka is proposing improvements to the Williston Fitness Center, located at 14509 Minnetonka Drive. The improvements include interior remodeling, two additions to the existing pool building, expansion of the parking lot, and painting of the exterior of the tennis building. The improvements require an amendment to the conditional use permit and site and building plan review.
