Help Minnetonka firefighters by adopting a hydrant

Help keep Minnetonka's fire hydrants accessible.

Year round, fire hydrants stand as silent sentries, ready to assist in stopping a fire. Unfortunately, some people see hydrants as an eyesore, covering them with foliage in the summer and leaving them buried in snow in the winter.

Minnetonka has about 7,000 hydrants, spaced about 500 feet apart throughout the city. Keeping those hydrants accessible - with three feet of clearance all around - is impossible without your help. The Minnetonka Fire Department asks you to "adopt" a hydrant and keep it clear of snow in the winter and foliage in the summer. Thank you for helping ensure hydrants can be quickly located and easily used when they are needed most!
