Public Education

The fire department offers a wide variety of public education opportunities. Public safety educators are available to deliver several different fire safety presentations designed for various individual groups. Each October, in conjunction with fire prevention week and the Fire Department and City Open House event, public safety educators visit elementary schools within the city. Students receive fire safety presentations in kindergarten, second and four grades. On request a presentation can be scheduled for a preschool, child care facility, Scout group, senior citizen group, business or for apartment and condominium fire safety.
