Public Education
The fire department offers a wide variety of public education opportunities. We have fire safety presentations that are designed for almost everyone. Each year during fire prevention week in October, the city hosts an open house and we start to give presentations at the elementary schools within the city. Students receive fire safety presentations in kindergarten, 2nd and 4th grade. Upon request we can schedule a presentation for preschool, daycare, scout groups or for apartment and condominium fire safety. The following are events the fire department participates in:
- Fire station tours
- Open house during Summer Fest in June
- Minnetonka Night for Neighbors in August
- City open house in October
- Elementary school program
- Summer parks program
