Fire Department

The Minnetonka Fire Department is responsible for fire suppression, rescue, fire code enforcement, and public fire education. The department includes 80 paid-on-call firefighters and 7 full-time firefighters operating out of five fire stations around the city. Every resident and business in the city of Minnetonka is within six minutes of a fire station.

Fire Department trainingFirefighting and rescue tasks are the primary responsibility of the paid-on-call members of the department, while fire prevention and support activities are carried out by the full-time staff.

This includes code enforcement, inspection, fire investigation and public education. These are key areas in holding down costs associated with traditional fire department response.
