Wiping Cloths
Wiping cloths used to wipe food contact surfaces must be rinsed in a sanitizing solution frequently.
- Wiping cloths need to maintain a sanitizer concentration to kill bacteria and harmful organisms.
- Store wiping cloths in a sanitizing solution between uses… and use frequently!
The sanitizer will not contaminate food or equipment. It evaporates quickly!
What is a sanitizing solution?
- 50–200 ppm chlorine equals 1 tsp bleach per gallon water.
- 200 ppm of quaternary ammonium.
- 12.5 to 25 ppm of iodine.
Be sure to change the solution frequently.
Do not add soap to the sanitizer solution. Why? Soap will tie up the sanitizer and make it ineffective!
A sanitizer solution is a germ-buster solution!
