- Juvenile Diversion Program leader
Do you work effectively with young people? Then consider participating in this program that offers first-time youth offenders a positive alternative to juvenile court. The goal of the program is to hold youth accountable for their actions while giving them the tools to ensure they don’t re-offend. Volunteers, working in teams of two, receive training from the Northern Star Council. Programs are held weekly; a three-month commitment is necessary. Background check is necessary. - Police Reserve
As a member of the Minnetonka Police Reserve, you are an unarmed, uniformed assistant to the department in a variety of functions: performing community service tasks and assisting during natural disasters as well as other emergencies. You must be 21 years of age, a U.S. citizen by birth or naturalization; must possess a valid driver’s license and have a good driving record; be in good physical condition; pass a background check. Training is provided. Members must attend a monthly meeting, as well as volunteer 10 hours of service per month.

- Storm drain monitor
Residents inspect a storm drain weekly in their neighborhoods to keep it free of debris. Contact Minnetonka Public Works at 952.988.8400.
- Would you like to serve on a city board or commission?
The Minnetonka City Council is seeking volunteers to serve on various city advisory boards and commissions. Applicants must be residents of Minnetonka, have a desire to serve their community in a volunteer capacity, and be willing to contribute the number of hours necessary for the particular group to which they are appointed. City council members interview applicants and selections are made as openings occur throughout the year.
Advisory groups include Planning Commission, Park Board, Economic Development Authority (EDA), Charter Commission, History Commission, Police Advisory Committee and the Senior Citizen Advisory Board.
